Mon Guerlain, product description
Mon Guerlain is a tribute to today’s femininity: a strong, free and sensual femininity, inspired by Angelina Jolie.
The Eau de Toilette Mon Guerlain is a tribute to a free woman, with all that this encompasses in terms of strength, daring and courage. Braking free from convention, she is surprising and unpredictable.
This citrus oriental fragrance is a radiant fragrance as fresh as the Sambac Jasmine and the Carla Lavender that compose its floral notes beautifully enhanced by a blend of shiny citrus notes.
Your Mon Guerlain fragrance in its “Quadrilobé” bottle: created in 1908, the bottle established itself as one of Guerlain’s iconic bottles. Simple and graphic, it echoes an alchemist’s bottle and owes its name to its stopper, which is crafted from one piece to obtain the four-lobed shape.
A century later, beautifully enhanced by a luxurious glass weight and a white gold colored adornment, this bottle offers a contrast between strong taut lines and sensual curves, expressing contemporary femininity.
- Angelina Jolie donated her salary from this endorsement to charity and focused mainly on the "The Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation".
"The Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation's work is inspired by our children and their connections to particular countries. We visit the projects together, and it is growing with them. We started 13 years ago in Cambodia, and have since moved to Ethiopia and Namibia, too. It is dedicated to education, health, and the environment. We are gradually expanding, but our focus is still very much on enabling local people to develop their own communities and future, as well as rights for women and children."
- The commercials was shot at Angelina Jolie's and Brad Pitt's French Château Miraval in Provence, France were their company produces Miraval wines, olive oil and other products.
- The music set to the commercial is made by Andy Quin’s song “Awakening".
"It was a brand my mother loved, so I knew it from my childhood. It spoke to her, as it does to me, of beauty, history, and quality; one of the oldest perfume houses in the world, from France, a country I love and feel connected to."
- Angelina Jolie
"The powder always made my mom feel special – to think she was in a small way a part of it returning would make her blush. She would, in fact, feel like the lady she really was and often didn’t feel as a single mother who had very little time for herself."
- Angelina Jolie, on Guerlain bringing back the pressed powder her mother once used, as part of its Christmas collection
"I love the lavender and jasmine mixed with the sandalwood. I don't like perfumes that are too strong or sweet. This is a fragrance that is earthy and sensual, and can be worn at any time."
- Angelina Jolie
"The tattoos being shown was not a plan, but I was pleased they didn't try to hide them, or turn me into someone I am not."
- Angelina Jolie
"As I talked to Guerlain about their ethos and the artistry they devote to the making of the perfume and the way they work in communities, sourcing their ingredients, the pieces came together and I felt we were a match. I was impressed by their strong sense of responsibility towards the communities they work with and towards the environment."
- Angelina Jolie
"We met in France and spoke about wanting to create something that would be elegant - like Guerlain - and something that I could truly stand by. I needed to be sure it was a scent that I loved, or I would not encourage other women to buy it."
- Angelina Jolie, on meeting perfumer Thierry Wasser
"I do remember that the day I met Laurent in Cambodia I don't think I had ever been more dirty or smelt more unappealing. We met while I was directing First They Killed My Father, after a day on set in the field, and I reeked of dirt and bug spray. We had a really good laugh trying to decipher the different scents and subtleties of the different notes withing the perfume, all the while competing with my jungle-strength bug spray."
- Angelina Jolie, on meeting president of Guerlain, Laurent Boillot
