UNHCR: 2004

During April Angelina went to Arizona to visit detained asylum seekers at three facilities to be a voice of protest for the detainees. And in Phoenix, also during April, she visited the Southwest Key Program, a facility for unaccompanied children.

During June Angelina visited Chad for 3 days visiting border sites and refugee camps. Angelina finished her visit by appealing through the media, the urgent need for UNHCR and its partners to get additional funding to the Sudanese refugees.

During October Angelina visited Afghan refugees in Thailand. Later that month Angelina visited West Darfur to make repeat visits on refugee camps. Appealing through the media again, Angelina appealed for security and access to displaced people’s home villages.

During December Angelina made a private visit to Lebanon and stayed in the country for the Christmas break. While in Lebanon, Angelina visited UNHCR’s regional office in Beirut as well as some young refugees and cancer patients in the capital’s hospital.
