On March 23, 2002, Angelina visited Namibia’s Osire Refugee Camp where she brought hundreds of volleyballs, basketballs, footballs and nets for the refugees’ sports teams of all ages and 270 tents and several hundred items of bedding and mattresses to the camp.

During May Angelina, accompanied by the UN refugee agency’s Regional Representative, Jahanshah Assadi, visited Thailand and in June Angelina visited Ecuador.

On Sept. 16, 2002 Angelina donated $100,000 to U.N. aid agencies in Africa to provide relief for refugees who have been living in a camp since Morocco annexed the Western Sahara in 1975.

During October 2002, Angelina visited a landmine awareness centre at Cheshire, UK and later that month, visited the refugee camp, Kakuma, in Kenya.

On Nov. 26, 2002 Angelina purchased some land in Cambodia which has now been de-mined. It is now a home for Angelina her family for when they are in the country.

In December 2002, Angelina visited Kosovo for 4 days re visiting camp sites.
