Angelina and her children visit Museum of Tolerance

This Sunday, May 6, American filmmaker Angelina Jolie took her four – Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne – from her six children to visit the Museum of Tolerance, located in the city of Los Angeles, in the United States. A photo of Jolie next to her children was shared by the Museum’s official Twitter.

The Museum of Tolerance (MOT) was designed to analyze racism and prejudice in the United States and the world, with a strong focus on the history of the Holocaust. MOT has also expanded to Jerusalem, where a “Center for Human Dignity” is under construction, and is sponsored by the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

The Los Angeles Museum of Tolerance was opened in 1993 as an educational weapon of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and receives around 350,000 visitors a year, about one-third of which are school children. One of the museum’s most talked about exhibits is “Holocaust Section”, where visitors are divided into groups to experience some of the World War II events. These experiences are then discussed later. The museum also features testimonials from Holocaust survivors, often volunteers who have survived, who tell their stories and answer questions. Along with Holocaust-related institutions, the Museum has brought the focus to other episodes of mass destruction and collective discrimination.
